When I run an Internet Shortcut from my taskbar, I get 4 instances of iexplore in Task Manager. When I run iexplore I only get two instances. The instances of iexplore that I get when running a Internet Shortcut do not go away when I close the window so by the end of the day, I have LOTS of instances of iexplore in Task Manager.

Well.. I have done some work on my own and I found that if I enable TABS in IE8 the problem goes away. I had TABS disabled. This made me think it might be an ADD ON that was causeing the problem. I disabled TABS in IE8 and then disabled all currently loaded add-ons and the problem went away. I began enabling currently loaded add-ons until the problem started again and I found that HP's Smart Web Printing was causing the problem. I don't use this feature so I just left it disabled. Hopefully this solved the problem. Will keep you informed.

I do not accept personal donations for assistance provided. I would ask that you instead consider donating the greatest gift - Organ Donation. Your organs are of no use to you when your gone. You will save a life that would otherwise be lost!
