After downloading a torrent a few weeks back & it serves me right, I got myself a nice few trojans.
Been struggling through and trying to get a clean pc again ever since. Been looking at various topics on here & have got rid of a few!
I have run the following software to try and locate what I have:
Spypot search and destroy
All of them now do full scans without finding any threats
But then I get pop ups from AVG Resident Sheild saying the following:
00189302.exe in c:\windows\temp "Medium Risk Malware"
But when I try and move it to vault, it says unsuccessful.
I then googled it & downloaded a software called "Prevx v220.127.116.11" which finds the same threat, and when i double click on the threat, it takes me to a link saying "HOTFIX.EXE" but tells me to pay to register prevx to heal it.
Not sure what i've got!
Any help much appreciated
Best regards, Jordan
Possibly found another way of removing it, I went directly into the c:\windows\temp folder & ran AVG which gave me the option of force remove the file. So it seems to have now gone from the route. BUT it's not in the vault. So i'm keeping a close eye on it. Prevx now runs it as clean system.
Here's a screenshot of my AVG Vault for reference of what i've removed so far just through AVG:
