This depends on the script their using to run the forum, but most likely because in her settings she has it turned off to show graphics.
A friend, who uses Vista, has asked for help, and it's baffling me.
When she sends a post to a particular forum and uses the code for a smiley face, she cannot see this when she views it. It still shows up in code (ie. colon, dash, capital D).
All other users can see the smiley though. All her other inbuilt emoticons work fine.
I use XP and if l try this to the same forum it works fine for me.
Then out of interest l sent myself a test post from my isp address to my hotmail address and when l viewed the hotmail receipt, MY smiley just shows up as code and not the emoticon itself.
