I get the above error message when I try to register for websites. However I am not getting any image to verify when I try to register.
I tried this on another computer that still has Internet explorer 6 and had no problems. An image appeared, I verified the numbers, and was able to register. I can only assume this has something to do with Internet Explorer 8 which I recently installed on this, the problem computer.

If you think IE8 is the problem...roll back to a previous version of IE.

But...I've had IE8 installed on my two desktops for some time...it's not an inherent problem associated with IE8 for all users.

if i do that i cant use gmail except in html, that is not the solution, and i still keep getting messages that ive gone offline when i haven't
