As I was learning some real good tutorials I came upon a stump..

I do not know if this has to do with the time line of that layer or what but:

I wanted to use the deco tool to create little dimples on a golf ball, so that when the ball rolls I can use

masking to overlay the dimples.

My Problem:

The tutorial creates a rectangle then inside the rectangle spreads the dimples, using the deco tool. I first have to create the dimples and save it as a symbol.

Then I choose it of my deco tool using the "Grid Fill" fill in the appropriate setting. Then when I go to spread it inside the block, nothing happens instead it selects the whole block.

So I have tried it in a new untitled page and it works fine.

I need some help with this I even read upon it but there must be something I am not doing correct...
