Assuming you are using Windows Mail and that's what you mean look through remove programs for Windows Mail.

Windows Mail is the email client, which is configured to work with your hotmail account.

If Windows Mail isn't there, look for Windows Live Essentials.

Thanks for your reply, but "Windows Mail" or "Windows Live Essentials" are not to be found in the "Uninstall or Change a Program folder. I need to get rid of that mail program because, it's under attack and is sending out phony mail under my name.

What you are experiencing has become very common lately. The same thing happens with yahoo, gmail, and ISP mail.

What you really want to do is close out your hotmail account. Uninstalling an email client would not stop the issue anyway, because the mail account would still be valid.

Follow these steps to close your account:

1. Visit http://mail.live.com/mail/CloseAccountConfirmation.aspx

2. Sign in using your Windows Live Hotmail account and password.

3. Click "Close account" button.

This will only close the e-mail service, the Windows Live ID that is associated with your account will remain active and will be deleted after 365 days of inactivity. If you would like to access any of our Windows Live ID services, please use a different account.

Thank you for that suggestion, that sounds like the "Final Answer". One question, what the heck is "Windows Live ID" and will it have any impact on me after it too is gone in that 365 days.

What is a Windows Live ID?

The only impact it will have is that you will no longer be able to use that particular name to sign in to Windows Services.
