Hello,

I am very new to the whole smartphone thing. I just got my captivate and I am still learning my way around it. I just put some MP3s onto it to check out the player and I am having sound problems. Some parts of songs sound like they are fading in and out slightly. These MP3's sound fine on my Sony Walkman and computer. All songs are high quality 320kbps. My friend has the same phone and he said he didn't notice a problem with MP3 sound and he is using pretty good quality headphones. The problem seems to still be there with both sets of headphones I have (including the ones that came with it).

Do I have a defective player?
Should I re transfer the songs and try again?
Are there some settings I should know about?
Should I try a different music app? If so what is the best free one you guys could recommend.

Thanks,
Jon
