I have a Pavilion dm4 1063 CL that is having wireless trouble. The hard drive failed and I had to replace the Hard drive. I reinstalled W7 Home premium and noticed that there was no wireless device listed under the device manager. There is a wireless key at the top right of the keyboard and an orange light. I think that light is suppose to be blue. I tried to install a wireless driver, but that did not work. What should I try next. Thanks

Apparently something is missing.
What type of disk did you use to reinstall Windows?

I used a Windows 7 Home premium disk to reinstall and used the product key from the back of the computer. There is no sign of a wireless device in device manager. What should I try next. Thanks for the quick reply.

Go to HP site, download and install chipset driver.

Any other errors in Device Manager?

I just loaded the chipset drivers. I have unknown device and network controller as the only two things in the device manager with a yellow explanation next to them. is there a chance that the wireless card is not seated properly. What else could it be. Appreciate the help.

I am pleased to say that I fixed the wireless problem. After reading many posts regarding this issue, I stumbled across the answer. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/30114-43-unknown-network-controller-1063cl-given

I downloaded the bottom driver and it worked. Thanks for your help and quick responses
