Hello, about 1 week ago I clicked on a link in an e-mail and inadvertantly downloaded a virus. It prevents my web browsers from opening, freezes them up, and sometimes I have to unplug the computer from the power supply because it won't shut down. The system I am using is Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 3000. I would appreciate any help or advice you may give me.
Thanks . Janet

Hello Janet,
Please follow our Removal Guide here Remove My Security Shield .
You will move to the Automated Removal Instructions

After you completed that, post your scan log here, let me know how things are.
The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.
