Hi, lately my laptop seems to take 20+ seconds to open IE 8. I've run a full scan and all OK. My anti virus is CA and I did update to a new version (Anti virus Plus) about 3 months ago.
I'm using wireless and I note there does not appear to be any activity between the laptop and the modem during this 'white screen' period.
Appreciate your comments and thanks.

Close IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Same problem?

Thanks for the advice Broni...tried this but already set for no add ons. By the way, IE is even slow when just opening internal stuff eg My Pictures.

I'm confused. Are you talking about Internet Explorer, or Windows Explorer, rather?

I was referring to Internet Explorer however I had a session with Computer Associates my anti virus people and it looks like it is now solved. There appeared to be some malware that wasn't being detected or removed during a scan although it gave me a warning during opening of IE. I uninstalled the program and all seems OK now.
Thanks for your help and interest.
