Hi all, hope someone here can help me out...
I installed XP pro on a HP Vectra, which has an onboard Matrox graphic card.
Its a P3 600mHz with 192 Mb ram.
XP runs fine, the colors on the AOC 7Glr monitor are horrible!
Installed the right drivers (I think..) to no avail..
Please help me out, its for a friend who knows nothing about computers,
but is addicted to his little online games.. :flowers:

Welcome to BC Dinie.

How are they off? Is it all over the screen or just a patch?

Where did you get the drivers from? Are they for Windows XP? Have you checked the HP website for driver updates for your PC, they may well have XP drivers there.
Also if its onboard graphics, how much RAM is assigned to it?

Thanks for the welcome,
the colors are... just too red, or blue.. or green...
all over..

Yes the drivers are for XP, the computer is an oldie.
Bought third-handed from ... someone? So no CD's or
anything else came with it.
The onboard graphics has 8 Mb assigned to it.
Its a Matrox Graphics G200 AGP
The computer is, according to everest home edition:
HP Vectra VLi8
Intel 82440BX/ZX
192 Mb SDRAM
bios is a Phoenix (11/23/99)
I made a screenshot of everest, but don't know
how to add it to this forum
Thanks in advance for your help

Try the de-gauss in your monitor sttings. There should be a button or setting to select on the monitor it's self. You can also try to adjust the color balance. The gun in the rear of you monitor maybe going out. It paints the image onto the screen. That is the simple explanation.

There's a tutorial here on adding images to your posts. You might also want to look in here regarding making a signature.

Thanks all for your replies,
yes I tried the degaus function and no it didn't help.
Tried the colorbalance, but that didn't do anything
either.
Rimmer, thanks for the lead to the tutorials!
(I should have known its done like that )
I'll tell my friend the bad news and he'll have to
start saving money for another monitor..

I can only speak from personal experince, but 17", 20" used monitor are going cheap these days. Check around and see if your area has a computer recyler buiness. I can buy B grade 17" for $19 and 20" for $39 in my city. I have 13 workstations and 19 monitor. All of which were made before 2000 and I bought used.
Sorry for the bad news but with alittle research you could be into a desent monitor for very little money.

Good luck

Hmmm... I've been looking around here in this city, and found the
prices quite high. Even for older and secondhand ones..
Will look around a bit more.
Thanks all for your help.
