I hope this is the right topic forum but I'm not really sure. My computer is a 3 1/2 year old Dell xps 1710. When I boot my computer the letters all come up pink coloured. then it goes to a black screen and nothing else happens. It looks like the computer is on, but it does not leave the black screen, any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I just hooked it up to an old monitor and it works fine hooked up to the old monitor. Also my laptop monitor keeps going on and off, so could it be just that something isn't connected properly?
