Hello all you kind people
Thanks in advance for all your help. Would have to just cut my losses and reformat my pc if it wasn't for resources like these!

So basically my laptop (windows 7) has been acting weirdly for the last few days. I've run countless scans using pretty much everything under the sun, and it detects win32 viruses and removes them but this still doesn't solve my problem!

I switched antiviruses since I got the infection, from Mcafee to Kaspersky IS 2011 then to AVG internet security 2011. When I tried to run a kaspersky scan on normal or safe mode, it would get to maybe 20-30% then switch itself off, same with AVG in safe mode. I can run AVG in normal mode and it finds nada.
Also, the other day I had my google account hacked and the password changed, as well as my megaupload premium account and passwords. I have now managed to get those back safely but I strongly believe that this was linked to my malware woes.

In addition to antivirus scans, I've run several online scans; panda, eset and trendmicro. trendmicro found nothing, panda is still running and eset found a virus, i think it was win32 again, in a directory to do with my windows media player, and i chose the option to delete it and I couldn't find the file after that so I presumed it was gone.

Also, I've run MBAM, full and quick scans, all of which have found nothing; and spybot which on first run found a win32 virus of some description but says it deleted it....

So despite all these steps, I still have a virus... it makes my computer start up very slowly, with the delay on the welcome to windows 7 page and following that, takes me to a black page which I've not seen before then starts the computer.
Also when i shutdown, a "force close?" dialogue box comes up with nothing in it and again this is unusual for my pc.
In addition, firefox and thunderbird have begun to run slow, especially on first start up... in the case of firefox, it takes a lot longer just to get to my igoogle start page.

I've run all the programs as requested and attach the results below
GMER is still running so that hasn't been added, but this is mainly because I couldn't get it set the way it shows in the instructions.... it opens and scans a bit then only the services, registry and files options are available. don't know how to fix this!
I also have a hijackthis log which I have attached in the hopes it may be useful.
Thank you very much in advance for your help!!!

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

We also need a new log from the GMER anti-rootkit scanner. Please first disable any CD emulation programs using the steps found in this topic:

Why we request you disable CD Emulation when receiving Malware Removal Advice

Then create another GMER log and post it as an attachment to the reply where you post your new DDS log. Instructions on how to properly create a GMER log can be found here:

How to create a GMER log

Casey

I do not accept personal donations for assistance provided. I would ask that you instead consider donating the greatest gift - Organ Donation. Your organs are of no use to you when your gone. You will save a life that would otherwise be lost!
