Hello, gotta say I appreciate problem solving forums. Just found this one while googling a problem..duh.
I keep wanting to convert to linux-just can't stand the MS routine of making my old stuff obsolete every few years. For now, I keep learning. This year I finally got myself back up the learning curve by quite a few steps. Was running 98 on a PIII-733, now I bought and resold about 60 cpu/motherboard combos (ebay id jvnn). I learned a ton running/testing/flashing etc. I'm now running a P4-3.0 with win2k. As a user I'm somewhere around the power-user neighborhood depending on the subject, OS, etc. I had some experience with unix back in the early 90's, also dabbled in a handful of languages from machine code to C. I've loaded linux a few times, mandrake and slack, couldn't stick with it. Now that I have a dsl modem with ethernet out, the next time I might make it.

Ok - Joel
