I posted recently about the thinkpoint virus on my wife's computer and thought that I had gotten rid of it per the removal instructions on here. It still seems to show up in the list of programs files through the start menu. I think there is a lot more going on than that though. I think her system is plagued with various things. I've tried all types of Malware/spyware removal tools but every day something else is detected.

The computer recently wouldn't boot up to windows. It would just remain on a black screen and never get to the Windows Splash screen. I used a Windows recover desk to get it going again (ran FIXMBR and FIXBOOT). That seems to get it back on track but then after a while more malware is detected and I can't boot up to Windows when I try to log back on the next day.

I am running windows XP. I don't know if this is a combonation of viruses and something wrong with the hard drive or just viruses/malware. I would appreciate if anyone can help me with this issue.

Thank you,
