I'm trying to find a 50-pin Centronics male to a USB male cable. Does such an "animal" exist?

Are you referring to a parral to USB cable? If so eBay if you want to mail order. Walmart has it and just about any computer store.
If you are talking about SCSI to USB I have never heard of one.

If this link works  it's an example.. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Ca...c.asp?CatId=471

There are SCSI to USB adapters. I said as much on Dave8's other thread with the same question.

Since I did not read Dave8's other thread I guess it's a good thing you said it again.

Sorry about the duplicate posting, but I'm new to this. I've found a DB25 pin to USB cable, but have been unable to find a 50-pin Centronics to USB cable--or an adapter for the 50-pin Centronics male to a DB25 female. I've been told by cable manufacturers that the cable I want is possible, but so far no one seems to be making it.

The microcenter product is not what I need--wrong connectors on both ends. I'm trying to connect a scanner with a 50-pin Centronics female to a USB port--thus I'd need a 50-pin Centronics male to a USB Type A male cable. I have found adapters that change a 50-pin Centronics to a HD 50. I've also found a DB50 to USB. One company told me "To my knowledge, there is not a components to suit your configuration needs. It essentially comes down to data transfer and these are two totally different types of technologies. cable." However, another said such a configuration is possible (but they didn't have what I need).
