If you can get on the internet, it has to be either your firewall, or something in the AIM program.

See if it is being blocked in the firewall settings, and inspect your AIM settings that concern connectivity. If the program isn't opening at all, try deleting it and reinstalling it.

In another post you said that you cancelled your account with AOL. They may have deleted your user name. You may have to create a new user account in the free AIM section, which would mean you have to change your user name.
