I have been thinking about upgrading my cpu I have a Toshiba Qosmio and was wondering if I could upgrade to a Intel T9600. Here is link for the Cpu

Or if anyone has a better cpu to suggest that will work.

Biggest problem I see is that is a laptop, and that is not a mobile version of the CPU-it may work, but keeping it cool is going to be a completly different story. On top of that, upgrading it is going to be one heck of a chore, for a CPU that is likely going to overheat your laptop.

Thanks for the advice wasn't sure because there are a lot of sites where people say the t series 35w can be used in my laptop but just think I'm gonna get a p8800. I know it will be a chore but its the only thing limiting this laptop is the cpu and it would cost a lot of money to purchase a new one that will out perform this one.

Well, it may work-as Ive never done it myself, I can't say for sure, Im just saying seeing as the CPU you suggested is a desktop model chances are it will run to hot, so its up to you whether you want to risk it or not-I would advise against it.

Much appreciated and I don't want to risk overheating so I'm just gonna upgrade to the best mobile that will work with my laptop. Thanks! I always get sound advice and corrects solutions here so I trust your probably right.
