Windows 2000 Stuck at starting up

It boots into safe mode no problem!
but in normal mode it gets to windows 2000 starting up splash screen, and it doesnt get past it?

Any help will be much appreciated

If it starts in safe mode but hangs in regular mode then a driver or other software trying to load at start time is hanging the computer. I would start in safe mode and do one of two things.

1. Check device manager, msinfo32, event viewer and system information, for conflicts and errors in the hardware and software
2. Copy the MSCONFIG utility from a Windows XP machine and place it in the WINNT directory and use it to shut down everything and then you can re-enable things one at a time to see where the conflict is.
