I'm trying to help my sister-in-law and her teenage daughters get rid of some Malware on their computer. They are infected (at least, perhaps there are others) with Antivirus 2010. I ran through the instructions found here for removing it (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-antivirus-2010/, but when trying to run rkill.com (and I also tried iExplore.exe and eXplorer.exe), the log results just showed explorer.exe and rkill.com as the files removed.

The PC already had Malwarebytes on it, but I was also able to download and install updates to the application as well. But when I tried running a full scan, the program would crash without any warnings or errors.

So, I've read through the preparation guide for requesting help here, and have done what I can with that.

Below is the result of dds.scr from the Owner (normal user) account on the PC. I also have the results from the Administrator account in case that makes a difference. It took a very long time (15 - 20 mins) to complete the dds.scr script when a ran it under the normal Owner user.

DDS (Ver_10-11-10.01) - NTFSx86

I was not able to get a rookit scan report from gmer, because just like running Malwarebytes, gmer crashed when I tried to do a scan.

Because the spyware is wreaking havoc with the PC, and esp. the browser, I am posting this from my own PC. So it may be a bit before I can run / gather any additional diags because of that. Any help and/or advice here is much appreciated though!

By the way, this looks like I'm having the same problems here as in this post: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic359864.html/
