To preface how this started, my buddy plays a online game with me, he's always dropping. He has cable connection and wired directly to the modem. I offered to fix his pc through TeamViewer. I noticed he has lots of anti-virus programs and the main account is "Valued Customer". This pc belonged to a noob. I removed like 8 anti-virus softwares. Then I planned on uninstalling AVG and replacing with Avast for resident protection and Malwarebytes/Advanced System Care for periodic cleanup. So to do this I planned on running malwarebytes first. I ran RKILL to end any process that might be preventing malwarebytes from working. At the malwarebytes update button click I ran into the Update Error 12007, 0 (not the 736 one). I tried some solutions I read. I added all exceptions to Malwarebytes to AVG. However I KNOW there is something wrong going on because Malwarebytes won't execute as mbam.exe. Only when I change the exe to iexplorer.exe will it run. I also tried 2 more fixes for the update including a Reg add line and checking the internet settings. Did not work, disabled Windows Firewall/AVG, still did not work. How do I fix this pc?
