Many times (not always) when copying in MS Word or MS Excel the doc freezes so that I can't paste elswhere. I need to go to control/Alt/Delete to close doc and begin again, also losing anything not saved. Any fix suggestions?

How much text and formatting are you trying to paste into these documents?

Copying and formatting = very little. Are applicable SPs installed for Office? I don't know, don't knw what SPs are. It all worked very well for a long time, this problem has been going on for 5-6 months now.

What version of MS Office is installed?

SPs...Service Pack.

These are issued for every edition of Windows...and also MS Office.

I would recommend running Windows Updates and see what all is needed.
