Opening new window

I am in windows explorer, when I click on a file on a folder to open it, it opens in a new window. Yet it didnt do this a couple of days ago. Is there any way I can make it open in the current window

Go to Control Panel then to Folder Options and on the View Tab see what all is checked, or you can reset all folders.

I have tryed both of these but it still opens in a new window
