I just noticed something cool with the new way google does searches, and just thought I would share it.

When you click the text (search result summary) below the search result link:

A preview of the website is generated prior to you actually visiting, so you can see the site before you visit it to see if its something you want to click on.

This only works in Firefox from what I have seen.

It works in Internet Explorer 8, but not 7.

Its been on for 2-3 days now. I have Chrome, Firefox and IE8 on my PC and it works on all of them.

Meh, I think it is unnecessary and annoying...kind of like "Google Instant".

Sure, it looks cool and flashy, but doesn't have much practical use, in my opinion.

Earlier, I was searching for a video site. I could not remember the domain name exactly - only a few words. But I remembered how the site looked. So the Google Instant Preview helped me a lot. I put in some search words and looked at the preview images and spotted the site I wanted. Easily done :thumbsup:

Yeah I don't much like it either it slows down my aging Apple iBook G4 :P But yeah it is also annoying.

You can toggle it off and on. Click the X in the page preview to close the preview and it toggles if off. Click the 'magnifying glass' again to open the preview again and it toggles it back on.
