When a Y! Community member suggested I upgrade the firmware in my router after I asked why it could be running slow and flickering connection I hit the Netgear website. While the website offers a firmware upgrade for routers with serial numbers and ones purchased from the netgear company, it does not for refurbished models (which mine is). However I found the .img file and tried several times to upload it to www.routerlogin.net as instructed by the support group that sold me the router. After several messages that returned the same message of "invalid file name" I decided to come here. I am hoping that someone here can shed some light on why the firmware isn't uploading and why my router may also be running slow and shutting off internet connection intermittently. Any help would be great.
