The pc a Dell Vostro 200 could not connect to internet so I installed a Dlink DFE-520Tx ethernet
adapter without any results. It happened that I checked device manager under network adapter and nothing is shown even I run belarc advisory and under communication none. In panel control under install/remove programs appears the adapter is installed but again nothing is shown. Of course when I try to enter to internet a message says that is no connections or card installed but all is done.
I know to installed the card is very easy and so the program for the adapter because I did it before withouth any problem but in this case I can find the solution.
Please any suggestions is welcome.

I'm not sure, if I understand.
A year ago, you're using on-board internet adapter and now, it didn't want to work, so installed PCI card.
Is that correct?
Is the PCI card brand new?

Yes, you are right, it was stored for one year and when I wantt to use again no internet connection but as i told due the internal did not work i installed a Dlink card and I forgot to mention that suddenly it worked with this new card during a week and even I checked device manager and it was shown there but I made somenthing wrong to move the cable to the internal connector and as nothing happened i returned to the dlink card and it returned to the initial, no internet and in device manager none was shown.
What could have happened?

I made somenthing wrong to move the cable to the internal connector

What was that?

Is D-Link still listed in Device Manager? Any errors?

1. Click Start>Run (Start>"Start search" in Vista).

2. Type in (or copy and paste):

cmd /c ping google.com>%temp%\$.$&notepad %temp%\$.$

and press Enter.

3. Notepad will open.

4. Copy all text in Notepad ([Ctrl-A], then [Ctrl-C]), and then post it (paste = [Ctrl-V]) in your next reply.

====================================================================================

Go Start>Run ("Start search" in Vista), type in:
cmd
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).

At Command Prompt, paste this:
ipconfig /all>c:\ipconfig_all.txt&notepad c:\ipconfig_all.txt&exit
Hit Enter.

Copy and paste what you see in Notepad into a Reply here.

I made somenthing wrong to move the cable to the internal connector

It means that the pc was working normally with the Dlink card but I wanted to know if
the internal card was working so I disconnected the cable from the Dlink connector and
put in the internal card connector so from this moment I have the problems I mentioned
before.

My friends Thanks for your help it was very helpful but I made a shortcut so
I installed a new card and now the connection to the internet is normal and
the card appears normal in device manager. In short the card was bad.
Thanks again
