Wave Volume self lowers, multiple IE processes

Hi all,

I have an issue where I have multiple instances of IE running in the background, I have hidden pop ups (they play sound), and the Wave volume keeps lowering itself. How do I fix this?

I have a Dell desktop running XP and Sound blaster audio card.
