I was looking to put an aftermarket cooler on my 1156, but the one I want looks pretty big, and I wanted to make sure it didn't block any of the RAM slots.

Tuniq 120 Extreme

Anyone got any ideas?

According to Tuniq that model is 12cm wide and requires a backing plate. Measure 6cm from the center of the current cooler/fan and see where that puts the edges of the cooler

I would do that but I don't have it yet, I'm buying it all together. Maybe if somebody has a UD3 they could see how far away the first RAM slot is from the center of the CPU?

this model: GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3 LGA 1156 ?

the CoolIT SYSTEMS ECO-R120 Advanced Liquid Cooling (ALC) has and adjustable fitting, for Intel sockets LGA 775, 1156, 1366
AMD sockets AM2, AM2+, AM3

I own this, its super quite, comes with cpu grease on the heatsinc already, and easy to install.
