The anti-virus software on my laptop was somehow diasbled for an unknown period of time. Now whenever I use a search engine and click on a search link, I am most often redirected to a random site that has nothing to do with the link I clicked on. I ran a virus scan using Vexira (which is what came with the computer), and the log said "Trojan.Cycbot.Gen!Pac Virus Mutant" was infecting several files. The infected files were moved to quarantine and I thought all was well, except the problem didn't go away and the antivirus software detects the same infected files daily. I'm not really certain where to go from here. I apologize if I didn't provde enough info in this post - it's my first time on this site or dealing with a virus - so please let me know what other info you need and I will be happy to provide it.
