windows 7 usb to serial

Ok since windows 7 doesnt have hyperteminal I have loaded putty .But now my radio shack to serial wont work with windows 7 so now what.I need this to communicate with a satellite modem to upgrade it.I used to use my xp computer but its decided to be a butt and not start up for me.So any help would be nice.

Some possible options for Win7 Hyperterminal.

You may have already been aware of and tried these options.
