Things are still not well with my friend's laptop. I have removed ancient McAfee and installed and run AVG Free, Zone Alarm Free also have run Stinger, SpyBot, A squared free and Ad aware - this has got rid of loads, especially when I ran them in Safe Mode. Is there anything else you can see please?

The laptop is running very slowly and usage of hard drive fluctuates wildly from 35 Meg free (!) to 600 Meg at best. I have removed pretty much everything except installed sofware from the C Drive - although I'm willing to uninstall some of that. Laptop runs Windows XP Professional SP2. Laptop has small 4 Gig C Drive and 12.8 Gig D Drive.

Thank you for any help you can offer.
