Hi - Sorry to make my first post a <HELP> one, but I guess that's common here.

As the heading implies, my mother opened the spoofed email from DHL and then opened the attachment. Her computer of course went haywire and she got errors and such, so she rebooted and now it shows:

nxqm.uyo

Specified Module Could Not Be Found.

So, I came over to help. I'm presently running her antivirus software. It is almost complete, and has quarantined a file, but then it looks like the virus did something and the McAffee screen changed and looks "weird" and things aren't making sense. $hit.

I plan on downloading combofix and then reporting back here. I'd sure appreciate any help!!!

Thanks!
Wally

uh oh... all went to hell in a handbasket and the computer is acting weird and giving lots of error notices. My Mom just handed me a box with a new disc from Webroot. Hopefully I can reboot into this disc and get lucky. I'll check via the laptop here for any suggestions. Thanks!!!!!

ok, I ran combofix and things are totally (seemingly) back to normal - WHO-HOO. Combofix was generating a log for me, but then rebooted the machine without log for me??? Anyway, I am re-running McAfee and hoping for the best now :-)

FWIW the webroot really has me pi$$ed off! I have the id number for the bought and paid for anti-virus and spyware, and it tells me that it won't scan for viruses - obviously screwed up. That'll be tomorrow's problem I guess. Thank God I found this site and your utility. My mom is a CPA and it was on her work computer - YIPES!

I'll check back tomorrow, after some sleep.

Thanks!
Wally
