Hi, First of all thank you! I have been fighting this problem for two weeks now, Came from another forum, posted logs and what they requested there, and have gave it over a week, and they said i am clean, but the problom persists and would now like a second opinion. Have ran, AVG, Kaspersky online scanner, DDS, Hijackthis, super anti-spyware, combofix, gmer, malware bytes, and others. The problem i have is when i search google, the results come up fine but when i click on link it pops up new window and keeps re-directing, mainly epoclick and google analytics is the sites, usually a blank page. Other search engines work fine, bing for example seems fine, have not tried them all tho. But regardless of where or what site i have came from, if i click anywhere on a page, blank spot just to select page to scroll down using arrow keys, i get a pop-up, everytime. I am hoping for a solution and greatly appreciate any effort or help A LOT! Thank You

here are logs

Hi Brad,

I've looked at your other thread, and there were some things not addressed.

Java cache showed as infected in the online scan report :

To Clear the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) cache, do this:
  • Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
  • Double-click the Java icon.
    -The Java Control Panel appears.
  • Click "Settings" under Temporary Internet Files.
-The Temporary Files Settings dialog box appears.
  • Click "Delete Files".
-The Delete Temporary Files dialog box appears.
-There are three options on this window to clear the cache.
    • Delete Files
    • View Applications
    • View Applets
  • Click "OK" on Delete Temporary Files window.
-Note: This deletes all the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the cache.
  • Click "OK" on Temporary Files Settings window.
  • Close the Java Control Panel.
You can also view these instructions along with screenshots here.

On your router, simply reset it and put a password on it. He didn't address your question regarding this....YES, there is a hijack that can affect your router. If this is the case, then simply resetting it will do the trick. The reason they get infected is usually because most people don't ever use anything but the default password.

I'd also like for you to run this tool before we get really involved, if the above things don't work :

Please download GooredFix and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double-click GooredFix.exe on your Desktop to run it.
  • Select "2. Fix Goored" by typing 2 and pressing Enter.
  • Make sure all instances of Firefox are closed at this point.
  • Type y at the prompt and press Enter again.
  • A log will open, please post the contents of that log in your next reply (it can also be found on your desktop, called GooredLog.txt).
Note: If you receive a message saying that GooredFix needs your system to be restarted, please close all applications and reboot your system. Please also allow any registry changes that may be prompted by any of your security programs.

Thanks,
tea

Hello,

Thank you for those, and for being so clear in your descriptions. :thumbup2:

You can delete GooredFix.

Let's also get a fresh look with an updated ComboFix :

Uninstall ComboFix by doing the following :

Click Start>Run>Type in, or copy and paste ComboFix /Uninstall > click OK

This tool is not a toy. If used the wrong way you could trash your computer. Please use only under direction of a Helper. If you decide to do so anyway, please do not blame me or ComboFix.

* Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply please.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.

If you have trouble running it the first time, then rename ComboFix.exe to Brad.exe and try again.

Thanks,
tea

Hello,

Funny...I have two of you with exactly the same problems.

Let's have a look with this:

Please perform a scan with Kaspersky Online Virus Scanner.
-- Requires free Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to be installed before scanning for malware as ActiveX is no longer being used.
-- This scan will not remove any detected file threats but it will show where they are located so they can be cleaned with other tools.
  • Vista users need to right-click the IE or FF Start Menu or Quick Launch Bar icons and Run As Administrator from the context menu.
  • Read the "Advantages - Requirements and Limitations" then press the Posted Image... button.
  • You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click the Run button. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions.
  • When the downloads have finished, you should see 'Database is updated. Ready to scan'. Click on the Posted Image... button.
  • Make sure these boxes are checked. By default, they should be. If not, please check them and click on the Posted Image... button afterwards:
    • Detect malicious programs of the following categories:
      Viruses, Worms, Trojan Horses, Rootkits
Spyware, Adware, Dialers and other potentially dangerous programs
    • Scan compound files (doesn't apply to the File scan area):
      Archives
      Mail databases
  • Click on My Computer under the Scan section. OK any warnings from your protection programs.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and do NOT use the computer while the scan is running. Keep all other programs and windows closed.
  • Once the scan is complete (the 'status' will show complete), click on View Scan Report and any infected objects will be shown.
  • Click on Save Report As... and change the Files of type to Text file (.txt)
  • Name the file KAVScan_ddmmyy (day, month, year) before clicking on the Save button and save it to your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste (Ctrl+C) the saved scan results from that file in your next reply.
-- Note: Some online scanners will detect existing anti-virus software and refuse to cooperate. You may have to disable the real-time protection components of your existing anti-virus and try running the scan again. If you do this, remember to turn them back on after you are finished.

Thanks.

Hi, Thank You, I tried running the online scanner, but it fails to update. I ran it before and didnt have a problem. And i ran it after uninstalling java that same day and i came back clean, i tried three times just now, opening new browser windows and running ccleaner inbetween, but it still fails after it downloads all updates and i do have AVG disabled and ran IE as administrator. Any suggestions? Thank You -Brad

Hi there,

I'm curious........

Download TDSSKiller.zip
  • Extract it to your desktop
  • Double click TDSSKiller.exe
  • Press Start Scan
    • If Malicious objects are found then ensure Cure is selected
    • Then click Continue > Reboot now
  • Copy and paste the log in your next reply
    • A copy of the log will be saved automatically to the root of the drive (typically C:\)

Thanks,
tea

Hello again,

Firstly download: DelDomains.inf
Locate DelDomains.inf right-click and select: Install
Note: you will not see any on-screen action ...
This will remove all entries in the Trusted, Restricted, and Enhanced Security Configuration Zones.
Note once you do this, any previous restricted zone hacks (spywareblaster, ie-spyad, etc) will need to be reapplyed.

Please download Dr.Web CureIt and save it to your desktop. DO NOT perform a scan yet.
alternate download link
Note: The file will be randomly named (i.e. 5mkuvc4z.exe).

Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Scan with Dr.Web CureIt as follows:
  • Double-click on the randomly named file to open the program and click Start. (There is no need to update if you just downloaded the most current version
  • Read the anti-virus check by DrWeb scanner prompt and click Ok where asked to Start scan now? Allow the setup.exe to load if asked by any of your security programs.
  • The Express scan will automatically begin.
(This is a short scan of files currently running in memory, boot sectors, and targeted folders).
  • If prompted to dowload the Full version Free Trial, ignore and click the X to close the window.
  • If an infected object is found, you will be prompted to move anything that cannot be cured. Click Yes to All. (This will move any detected files to the C:\Documents and Settings\userprofile\DoctorWeb\Quarantine folder if they can't be cured)
  • After the Express Scan is finished, put a check next to Complete scan to scan all local disks and removable media.
  • In the top menu, click Settings > Change settings, and uncheck "Heuristic analysis" under the "Scanning" tab, then click Apply, Ok.
  • Back at the main window, click the green arrow "Start Scanning" button on the right under the Dr.Web logo.
  • Please be patient as this scan could take a long time to complete.
  • When the scan has finished, a message will be displayed at the bottom indicating if any viruses were found.
  • Click Select All, then choose Cure > Move incurable.
  • In the top menu, click file and choose save report list.
  • Save the DrWeb.csv report to your desktop.
  • Exit Dr.Web Cureit when done.
  • Important! Reboot your computer because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
  • After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web in your next reply. (You can use Notepad to open the DrWeb.cvs report)

Thanks,
tea

Hi Tea, I ran the DelDomains, worked as you said i believe, still having problem, i downloaded the dr. web from alternate link (cnet) as i cannot read anything on the first download link's page, but the license is expired on it it says, and to update i need to apparently go to the page with foreign language. It will not scan, if you could maybe give me direct link to the download that would be great because i tried clicking around on the dr. web website and cannot find the link to downlod it. Thank You !
