Lost Internet Access, KB2388210

I had the same problem losing internet access once KB2388210 updated as it can't detect any wireless connections - hovering over the connection icon in the system tray says something like dependency group cannot start.

For the time being I've rolled back to a previous restore point. Coincidence or not I was getting a lot of popups but just on the beerintheevening.com website(!) so ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware which detected Trojan.Dropper - have now removed this but on trying the windows update again I still lose connection capability.

Any ideas people? Running Vista Home Premium, 32bit OS, on a Dell Inspiron with McAfee SecurityCenter.
