Steam will not connect

When I log in to steam it says connecting but after a while it says connection failed but I am connected and using the internet. I am using the correct password and username my firewall is not blocking it, I have tried deleting the clientregistry still not working

Yes I do and I know that it isnt blocking it

With Steam you must delete the exception in the firewall to allow Steam to work when its been updated or files have been changed.

What firewall do you use?

I use Bitdefender Total security 2010. I tried deleting the exception but it still doesnt work

Remove it from the exception list then have BitDefender relearn Steam.

Don't worry about it, the problem is fixed now, it was advanced system care there are known compatibility issues with it so I uninstalled it. But thanks anyway
