WMP 11 Media Sharing

I am trying to stream musice to my PS3 but when I go to start Media sharing in WMp11 it hinks but reverts to the same box and I have t canel to get out of it. When I try to start it in services it gives the above error. HTTP SSL, UNPhost, and SSDP discovery services all on. This XP sp3. any ideas?

Right click on the server you want to start then go to properties then look at the dependency tab. Take a screenshot of it, and post it here.

I aam having this problem on both my XP computers but not my vista. I tried rolling back to WMP10 and reinstalling with no luck. The last time I tried streaming to my PS3 was in January and it worked fine.

not at first but when I had the problem with WMP I switched them to automatic and restarted and still nothing.

Remove Norton and try it without it. If it works then Norton is the issue.

I disabled it still nothing. I had Norton 2010 when it worked last should I still try removing it?

I uninstalled Norton and still get the same error. On a side note, I left the dialog box on my laptop open by mistake overnight and it eventually started the service. My desktop still isn't working

Download the following: Norton Removal Tool as remnants maybe still lingering.

I used the tool to uninstall Norton. Run it again?

Ran it again, no change. I have a har time believing tat Norton is the roblem since it first worked with Norton and the Vista laptop that always worked runs Norton 2010 and the XP latop that experianced the same prolem at fist but seemed to work with time runs 2011.
