Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me. I can't seem to connect to the internet on one of my desktops (Windows Vista) but I can connect on the other one. The trouble started when Norton antivirus detected some malware, and I clicked to fix the problem. I have tried system restore, but it doesn't do anything.

Check you Internet Options and make sure the LAN setting is not checked. Some time a virus will put your computer on LAN so you can't go on line.
