Laptop won't run programs or load internet

Hi

I have a problem with my sisters Advent laptop. it has a vista o/s.

when she log's in she cannot run any programs or open internet explorer although msn messenger logs in.

I have started the laptop in safe mode with networking and programs and the internet run but i cannot figure out how to fix it or what is wrong. I ran malwarebytes but when it restarted and i tried to log in after the welcome screen it just went black.

does anyone have any idea?

Have You Tired anyother software? Spybot? etc?
and what Anti virus/ protection did you have on there before this happenend?

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
