Im helping someone go from vista to windows 7 on their laptop. I know it means wiping the whole thing and starting from fresh. Is there a way to backup the iphone info on a external drive just to be safe. I know that once 7 is installed I can reinstall itunes and re sync but ive had a bad experience with it once before lol.

just got to the users music folder and find the iTunes folder and copy that to an external drive. Then when windows 7 is installed and iTunes is reinstalled, just copy the back up to the music folder. Just remember to authorize the new iTunes install BEFORE you move the backed up folder to the correct folder to avoid some issue that might crop up.
