AMD Athlon 64
Windows XP SP3

I only have sound when I play DVD or downloaded media using VLC media player or iTunes. Internet, flash and game apps do not play sound.

Device manager under Sound, video and game controllers shows:

  • Audio Codecs
  • Legacy Audio Drivers
  • Legacy Video Capture Devices
  • Media Control Devices
  • Realtek High Definition Audio
  • Unnimodem Half-Dupex Audio Device
  • Video Codecs
Sound and Audio Devices Properties says No Audio Device.

The Realtek GUI plays test sounds normally.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
