Hello, I am pretty new on the virus world. My PC (XP SP3) has been infected with tr crypt.zpack.gen, found by Avira in the following file:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ftofpvm.sys

What should I do exactly?
I have downloaded Combofix but all the info on websites indicate NOT to start it without an expert's advice. That's what I am searching for!
Thank you in advance for all the help you can give me.

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

Thank you very much. Unfortunately, I could not enter windows anymore, so I had to copy all my relevant data from the HDD and then re-install Windows!
It demanded a whole day...but fortunately I had enough time and patience so it went smoothly.
Thanks again
