Do you want to delete the app from the ipad or delete it from your library and your ipad?

If just your ipad, tap and hold the icon you want to delete until they all wiggle. Then click on the x for the app you want to delete. This will prompt you to delete it. To stop them wiggling just press the home button. Next time you synch, though, unless you uncheck the app in itunes it will go back on your ipad.

To delete it permanently, delete it from the itunes library and your ipad.
