I have three entries of csrss in my system config which only stays up for 5 or 6 secs so I can see only that and they were not there before my problems. My firewall is down, trend micro does not work, system restore is not working and my home page keeps coming up as a messenger page or Invasion Power Board. I can find nothing in hijackthis and have tried all the removers I can find but no change. Help would be appreciated and help me keep my sanity. Thanks

Firstly boot in Safe Mode (see below) and try to run Trend Micro there so you can get online when booted normally. If you can get online follow this standard speech -

Is your Anti-virus program current and updated?

Do you have any anti-spyware installed? If not download and update all of the following:Reboot your computer in Safe Mode and run the anti-virus scan and anti-spyware scans there.
If you are not sure how to boot in Safe Mode there is a tutorial here: Safe Mode

See if that helps

Soltek QBIC, Pentium 4 3.0GHz, 512MB RAM, 200GB SATA HDD, ATI Radeon 9600XT 256MB, Netgear 54Mb/s WAP, ridiculously expensive Satellite Broadband
Windows XP Home SP2, Trend Micro Internet Security, Firefox, Thunderbird, AdAwareSE, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster, A-squared Free, Ewido Security Suite.

Also download Stinger
and Dr Web cure-it and
EWIDO and run in safe mode after Adaware and Spybot.

Note:csrss.exe is the main executable for the Microsoft Client/Server Runtime Server Subsystem. This process manages most graphical commands in Windows. This program is important for the running of your computer and should not be terminated, BUT NIMDA and Blaster worms seem to overwrite this service.
