I have a Dell with XP. Recently the cd tray would not open when the button was pressed. The light blinks a couple of times and nothing happens. You can still open it by using the small hole on the side and it works fine. What could be the problem?

Dell had a problem with their BIOS's back in 2001 or 2002 that would cause similar symptoms. I'd check the Dell site for updates for your system.
