Hello I'm trying to recover my friend's computer and it has some serious viruses.

using AVG free edition 2011 this is what i found:

"";"C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\i8042prt.sys";"Virus identified Win32/Patched.DX";"Object is white-listed (critical/system file that should not be removed)"
"";"C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ftdisk.sys";"Virus identified Win32/Patched.DX";"Object is white-listed (critical/system file that should not be removed)"
"";"C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\compbatt.sys";"Virus identified Win32/Patched.DX";"Object is white-listed (critical/system file that should not be removed)"
"";"C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\agp440.sys";"Virus identified Win32/Patched.DX";"Object is white-listed (critical/system file that should not be removed)"

I have already tried to run AVG in Safe Mode (didn't work)
I ran Malwarebytes' anti-malware in Safe Mode (had some success deleting the other viruses)
I ran LSP Fix
I ran HijackThis
Tried combofix (i admit i shouldn't have tried this)

I heading towards a dead end for solutions any help?

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
