Hello, i have a problem that started a week ago. it all started when a friend of mine downloaded a file onto my computer from a website. he said it was a zip file called ".zip" and when he unzipped it a program called "cheatconverter.EXE" accessed a number of locations in my downloads, my contacts, and my desktop. it also changed some others that i didnt notice at first(names unknown). when i saw this i shredded the files it infected, as well as the source file.

after all of that I proceeded to run AVG antivirus. the scanner picked up no infection but the computer locked up multiple times. at first i used tak manager to stop the program that kept locking up but then when that didnt work i restarted my computer. when i did this i tried loging in and it worked. then it proceede to lock up even when i logged in using safe mode. now when i log in it goes to a black screen with the mouse pointer on it and no access to anything even the task manager.
and when in safe mode it displays a black screen with the words safe mode in the corners.

also computer is using windows vista 64-bit

so can anyone help me?

p.s. if any more info is needed just ask me.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
