Problem running shell.reg

Hello - this is my first post so hopefully I'm following the proper format for my question. I had the Thinkpoint virus on my computer recently and followed your instructions on the "Remove ThinkPoint (Uninstall Guide)". I was able to run all the steps except for one. Step 9 asked me to click on the shell.reg download link. Which I was able to do and run. In step 10, I'm able to locate it on my desktop and double click on it but it does not ask for data to be merged so I don't think it worked properly. And once I went through the remainder of the steps through malwarebyets and all, once I reboot, the windows desktop does not display on start up and I'm forced to get it there by clicking CTRL, ALT and DELETE and typing explorer.exe on the Open:field. Can you help me get this recified so I can get my desktop back? PS - I don't have the CD's to reinstall windows if that is the option you were going to provide. I appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
