Thanks for taking the time to allow me to present my case.
OS = Windows XP Home SP3
I had problems with IE7, Firefox, and Google Chrome all redirecting anything i searched for to advertisements or completely unrelated urls. I ran MalwareBytes, AVG anti virus, Avira anti virus, Advanced System Care pro, registry booster, Super antispyware, and Hitman pro 3.5, I have run these scans in both Safe mode and Normal mode. other than cookies, they found nothing. I have also run windows malicious software removal tool, which froze up just before the scan begin, and have since been unable to load it. speed of my system is normal, internet is normal except the redirecting. I ran Hijackthis and received this log file:

I wanted to say Thank You, Even though you have not had enough time to reply yet, I did find a solution, the redirect virus was hidden in :
c:\windows\system32\drivers\ohci1394.sys

I replaced the file and the redirect virus is gone.
I would also like to say that from the many forums i have read looking for solutions, the problem is in this directory, but not always the same file.

As this issue appears to be resolved I am closing the topic. Please send me (or any other Moderator) a Personal Message (PM) if you would like the topic re-opened.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it.
