I would not think so. not SD, but it is odd that you cannot read the card.

You would not believe what my SD cards have been through.

I still have my first 16mb card from like ten plus years ago.

Now, if it was a thumb drive yes, I will never use another thumb drive on purpose.

I would seek the driver from IOGEAR

At least you should if possible try the SD card in a known working reader.

Also, check the driver of the built in reader.

Would suggest seeking that in internal hardware

When starting a post make sure to supply...
The problem
Operating system
hardware specifics model number etc...
also like IOGEAR SD Card 16gig SDHC etc...

EDIT
The more info you provide the better your chances of getting a response and the faster to resolve the issue.
Else the responder will have to come back with..
What is the model number?
Then what is the operating system?

Please understand that this topic sd card mycomputer is not reading any of my sd cards is now taking a new direction.

Again, if possible try the SD card in a known working reader.

I would start by making sure first and foremost that you have run Windows update.

EDIT
Another thing that would be very helpful is to Publish a Snapshot using Speccy
