Hi guys.

I posted my logs as instructed and am awaiting a response. I understand you are busy here and it can take time until someone is available but could you give me an estimate of how long it takes for someone to take a look please?

I posted them up 10 days ago and was worried that maybe my post had 'slipped through the net'.

Thanks for all the great work here!

If you've posted in the Malware Removal forums and have not received a reply in I think it is 48 hours, you should send your helper a PM to remind them. They should get back to you shortly after that.

With the forum software upgrade everyone is still trying to adjust and get reaquainted.

This has caused some backlog and delay in answering any posts or responding to topics.

Barryr your post is near the top of the list and has not been lost or forgotten.

Hi DaChew, since you mentioned the subject, is there no longer a "My Topics" feature where one can see all the topics they have posted in?

That is ONLY if the topic has been picked up, and barryR's has not been picked up.

@ barry4,

I know how frustrating it is when your computer isn't working properly. Let me assure you that your topic isn't lost, forgotten, or ignored. We work with hundreds of logs every day, so we have devised a means of seeing only those topics that don't have responses yet. At the moment, we have nearly 450 unanswered topics, the oldest dated Oct. 14, 2010 at 8:23 pm Eastern Daylight Savings time in the U.S.A. Your log topic is dated Oct. 15, 2010 at 4:24 a.m. using the same time zone.

Our volunteer MRT team members have various levels of expertise and training, so while we try to take the oldest DDS/HJT logs, it is often the skill level of the particular helper and sometimes the operating system that dictates which logs get selected first. Some infections are more complicated than others and require a higher skill level to remove. Without that skill level attempted removal could result in disastrous results. In other instances, the helper may not be familiar with the operating system that you are using, since they use another. In either case, neither of us would want someone to assist you who is not familiar with your issue and attempt to fix it.

Please be patient. It may take a couple more days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

Help us help you. If HelpBot replies, you MUST follow step 1 in its reply so we know you need help.

Thank you, OrangeBlossom & DaChew for reassuring me. I didn't want to be pushy or appear impatient. Just wanted to make sure that, with the change of forum, I wasn't lost somewhere.

Thanks again,

Barry

Hi Orange Blossom, I shouldn't have been so quick to think, I just assumed that his topic had been replied to at least once, thanks for clearing that up
